During winter season you can get from the airport to the city and from the city to the airport by Santa Claus Bus or Airport Express.
The Airport Express bus will operate as usual from 10th August onwards.

You can easily travel from Rovaniemi city centre to Santa Claus Village by local bus or with Santa’s Express bus. Local bus number 8 operates year-round, while Santa’s Express provides another convenient option for getting to Santa Claus Village.
Local bus 8 (year-round):
Kindly send an email to the company providing the tour. You can find their contact information from the ticket you have received to your email with the booking confirmation. You can also put info(at)visitrovaniemi.fi as a copy on the email.
For local buses (Linkkari) you can buy single ticket directly from the driver with cash or card. It is also possible to buy single and 24-hour tickets in Waltti-app, at Osviitta service point and on a Waltti ticket vending machine in Rinteenkulma Shopping center.
For Santa Claus Bus and Airport Bus you can buy tickets directly from the driver by card or book online here.
For long-distance buses to other destination in Finland you can buy tickets online from Matkahuolto. Note that there isn’t a ticket sale on the bus station in Rovaniemi.
For trains in Finland you can buy the tickets from VR. There is also a ticket vending machine on the train station but not a service point.

Solo traveller! Many excursions are operated with a minimum of two full-paying customers, but single travellers are most welcome to join if a tour already has enough participants. Kindly check the availability from Rovaniemi Tourist Information (on spot) or from the company providing the tour.

Yes! Santa Claus can also be found at several other locations in Rovaniemi. You can meet him, for example, at SantaPark – the Home Cavern of Santa Claus, Santa’s Secret Forest – Joulukka and the Santa Claus City Office in the city centre. Santa Claus also makes appearances at various private venues and events, and you can book different activities that include a visit with Santa Claus.
Yes! In Rovaniemi, you can visit Santa Claus every day of the year at Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle. Entrance to Santa Claus Village is free of charge.
From mid-June to mid-August, there may be large numbers of mosquitoes and other small insects that pester you. They’re not a nuisance in the city centre, but in forested areas, on shorelines and on river banks they can be quite unpleasant.
Not to worry – they’re not dangerous. Their bites cause itchy bumps, but they do not carry disease or anything of the sort. All food shops and kiosks, service stations etc. sell a range of mosquito repellents. Long-sleeved and long-legged garments will also protect you from mosquitoes. One tip is to wear light colours.
