Story of Finnish Christmas

Come and experience an incredible horse sleigh ride adventure with us and dive into the enchanting Finnish Christmas story.

Our farm is located in the small village of Marrasjärvi, away from the city’s hustle and bustle. The nearest neighbor is about 11 km away. It’s approximately 60 km from Rovaniemi city center to our farm. The roads become narrower and bumpier as you get closer to the farm. You will arrive at our farm through a narrow forest road. Your privacy is guaranteed when you visit us.

Your visit begins when you hop on a sleigh pulled by horses, lined with warm reindeer hides. We’ll travel for about half an hour on a cozy and wintry forest trail that leads straight to a traditional finnis courtyard. At the destination, a charming and warm kota awaits,

In the kota, your hosts will tell you about Finnish Christmas and its wonders. You’ll get to enjoy traditional christmas porridge and taste Finnish Christmas delicacies around an open fire while tuning in to the atmosphere of christmas.

On this visit you get to feed some delicacies to our horses as is finnish tradition in christams. If you would like, you also have the opportunity to rein a real finnish horse sledge.

Our excursion is suitable even for the youngest members of the family, in the yard it is possible to sled, build snowmen and maybe even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

There might be greetings from Santa and perhaps a little Christmas surprise for you.

What to bring?

Remember to dress warmly for the trip! You will need woolen socks, a beanie, mittens, a winter jacket and pants, and winter boots. If needed, you can borrow a snowsuit and warm boots from us.
