Snowmobile Experience on a Sled

Come and experience an incredible snowmobile adventure on a sled with us in the Finnish wilderness.  Our farm is located in the small village of Marrasjärvi, away from the city’s hustle and bustle. The nearest neighbor is about 15 km away. It’s approximately 60 km from Rovaniemi city center to our farm. The roads become narrower and bumpier as you get closer to the farm. You will arrive at our farm through a narrow forest road. Your privacy is guaranteed when you visit us.

Your visit starts from the idyllic courtyard of our family farm, where you’ll experience a piece of traditional Finnish history with its red log buildings. You’ll be greeted by our cheerful hosts, along with their family and friends. The courtyard features the main house, a stable, a fenced area for the horses, a traditional Finnish hut (kota), and a sauna. The main house, built in 1934, serves as the home for the entrepreneurial couple. Our farm is beautifully situated by the shores of Lake Marrasjärvi.

The next step of your visit is to comfortably settle into the sleigh. The sleigh is lined with soft reindeer hides that will keep you warm during the journey. The engine starts, and we set off with a jolt. Our journey takes us along forest trails as we steadily drive towards the peak of the fell. The scenery along the route is already breathtaking, and the snow-covered Lapland forest is beautiful and awe-inspiring.

Once we reach the top of the fell, the sound of the snowmobile fades away, and you’ll get to experience the breathtaking arctic scenery. We’ll light a campfire, and if you’d like, you can even try starting the fire yourself. We’ll brew traditional Finnish “nokipannukahvi” (campfire coffee) and enjoy delicious homemade Finnish buns.

While sitting by the flickering fire, our guide will tell stories about Finnish mythology, forest spirits, and the significance of the forest to the Finnish people. Maybe during this adventure, you might even catch a glimpse of a forest spirit.
