Korvalan Kestikievari is the oldest tourism business in the Rovaniemi region. It has been owned by the same family for over one hundred years, which gives Korvala its unique and genuine atmosphere. It is a traditional guesthouse, which was established in 1889 alongside the Arctic Ocean Passage – the road from Rovaniemi to the northernmost point of Europe. Originally a place where travellers could rest, eat and sleep, it has for over twenty years also provided winter activities such as husky sledding tours, reindeer sleigh-rides and snowmobile excursions, in addition to other usual winter activities such as skiing and ice-fishing.
Lapland’s traditions and local culture are always part of the Korvala experience, whether visiting in summer or winter. We are located 60 km north of Rovaniemi, which means that the best way to get here is by car, or with the local bus service. We also have winter overalls for rent, which are great for pulling over your own winter clothing. Before any of our tours, we will teach you the skills needed and then guide you on your way through Lapland’s wilderness. Our activities can be arranged to your own timetable and suit all ages and group sizes from two to two hundred!
