Visiting package: Ice sculpting and dinner at Kota Restaurant (Autumn)

First the tour takes us to the solar-powered ice storage, where the massive ice blocks for next season’s hotel are stored. You may also see some finished ice sculptures that artists are working on in the storage already during autumn. You will hear interesting facts about the building process of the hotel and maybe get a bit of inspiration for your own creation.

Then it’s time to get down to icy business! Each participant gets their own block of ice and tools, and our guide will introduce you to the secrets of ice sculpting. You get to sculpt your own unique creation that may become a part of an art exhibition: some of the best executed sculptures will be displayed in the new snow hotel.

Dinner is served in the atmospheric Kota restaurant by the open fire. Here, the fireplace is not only for creating ambiance but it’s also used in preparing the dishes. The restaurant offers traditional meals such as reindeer and glow fried salmon, as well as vegetarian options and a children’s menu.

3-Course Menu:

• Starter: Celery-apple soup, spruce bud oil and roasted onion
• Main course (choose one):
• Salmon glow-fried by the open fire, roasted Lappish potatoes and leek, dill-tartar sauce and anis, pickled cabbage-onion salad
• Traditional sautéed reindeer, Lappish potato mash, pickled cucumbers and lingonberry jam
• Cabbage rolls, white bean purée, vegetables and soy-syrup sauce (vegan)
• Dessert: Apple-caramel pie, apple jam, cinnamon seasoned oats and white chocolate sauce

Menu fully lactose free, gluten-free options available.

Optional kids’ menu for Kota: Includes the same starter and dessert, but if you wish to change the main course, you can choose one from three kids’ main courses: Crispy Chicken with French Fries, Pasta with tomato sauce and Pasta Bolognese.
