Taava Reindeer Farm

Located in a peaceful forest setting, approximately 30 minutes from Santa Claus Village, Taava offers year-round reindeer experiences and a personal introduction to reindeer life in Lapland. Our experienced local reindeer guides welcome guests, share their knowledge and introduce the individual personalities of the animals in their care.

A visit to Taava is an experience of time, presence and personal attention. There is room for conversations, questions and those wonderful little moments that happen when guests become curious about the reindeer and their lives. Our guides take the time to introduce the animals, explain their behaviour and share insights into reindeer herding in Lapland today.

Every season brings a different way to experience Taava Reindeer Farm.

In winter, enjoy a traditional reindeer sleigh ride through the snowy forest, followed by an atmospheric moment by the fire in our welcoming kota, with warm drinks and Finnish delicacies. The visit continues at the reindeer enclosure, where guests can meet and feed the animals and discover their individual personalities. Our winter reindeer experiences include daytime reindeer safaris, farm visits and evening excursions under the Arctic sky, with the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights.

During summer and autumn, Taava offers a closer look into the seasonal life of reindeer. Meet the reindeer mothers and their calves, observe the young animals as they grow and develop their own personalities, and learn about the changing needs of reindeer throughout the year. For those interested in a deeper experience, Live the Life of a Reindeer Herder offers an opportunity to participate in seasonal activities alongside our local reindeer experts.

The atmosphere at Taava is warm, welcoming and unhurried. From the personal attention of our guides to the inviting warmth of the kota and the individual encounters with our reindeer, every part of the visit offers something to enjoy, discover and remember.

We warmly welcome you to experience Taava Reindeer Farm throughout the year.
