Step into the enchanting world of Lapland’s most iconic animal: the reindeer. This guided tour at Apukka Resort takes you inside a fenced forest area where friendly and curious reindeer are ready to greet you. Accompanied by a professional reindeer herder, you’ll walk alongside these magnificent creatures as they explore the woods. As you stroll, your herder will share captivating stories about their life and the unique traditions of reindeer herding. The journey concludes with a cozy cup of black pot coffee, a cherished Lappish tradition.

- A basic understanding of English is required, as all instructions are given in English.
- This is an outdoor tour. Please wear clothing suitable for spending time in nature.
- Infants are welcome if carried in a baby carrier by a parent.
- Our reindeer farm is just a few minutes’ walk from the resort.
- We kindly ask all our guests to treat the animals with respect. Please approach them slowly and avoid sudden movements that might startle them. Keeping a calm and gentle demeanor will help ensure the best experience for everyone.
- The reindeer are semi-wild, domesticated animals, and their appearance and behavior follow nature’s rhythm. After spending the summer roaming freely in the wild, they may be a bit shy at first until they get used to human presence.
- Be aware that we cannot permit any external snacks to be brought for the reindeer.
