We are keen on hosting media when the topic is related to the seasons of Midnight Sun in Lapland (end of May until mid August) and autumnal Northern Lights (from end of August until end of October).

Any other support, such as guiding, meals and local transfers, can be discussed based on the planned coverage. Please note Visit Rovaniemi does not provide transportation to and from Rovaniemi.

Filming permissions and Drone usage

Public places and events in Rovaniemi can be filmed and photographed for editorial purposes without a permit. Inside commercial places or attractions, in private areas or commercial events, permissions must be requested in advance. Please mention permission requests when completing Visit Rovaniemi’s Media application.

In Finland the EU drone regulations apply and the updated information is presented on Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom. To fly drone in Rovaniemi area (inc. Santa Claus Village, Santapark, Apukka Resort etc) it’s strickly required to have an official permission from the air traffic control of Rovaniemi airport (EFRO Rovaniemi).
