Shopping possibilities in Rovaniemi
The lively town centre of Rovaniemi is great for shopping; shopping centres along with scores of specialized shops and boutiques cater for all preferences from fashion and shoes to sports equipment and classic Finnish design brands like Marimekko and Iittala.
Local arts and handicrafts – or arctic design, as we like to call it – can be found in several shops around Rovaniemi. Lots of items available today have been made with the same methods and materials for centuries.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any place where you could exchange cash currency in Rovaniemi. There are multiple ATMs in the city centre and for example at the Rovaniemi Airport as well, if you wish to withdraw euros (at the Airport other currencies available).
The closest place to Rovaniemi, where you can exchange cash in Finland is in Tampere (6-7 hours by train). There you can find for example Forex (www.forex.fi/en).
In Finland banks do not offer this service, as you would need to be a customer of the bank and pre-order the currency.
