At the Edge of the Sky – Juhannuskallio Outdoor Concert: Harri Kuusijärvi & Kaisa Ristiluoma

Kaisa Ristiluoma’s music draws inspiration from northern nature, folk music and her own compositions. In Harri Kuusijärvi’s work, the accordion takes on new dimensions through improvisation, electronics and a contemporary musical language.

During the evening, the audience will hear music by both artists, as well as shared performances where their different perspectives enter into dialogue. The concert does not seek to merge these differences into one, but rather allows them to enrich the whole, demonstrating the many ways in which one and the same instrument can speak to the listener.

The panoramic view from the top of Ounasvaara’s Juhannuskallio, together with the natural soundscape, creates a unique atmosphere for the concert as the music becomes part of the surrounding rock and sky. This is the essence of the outdoor concert experience: nature itself becomes the stage.

As the concert takes place outdoors in the middle of nature, please dress according to the weather. In cold weather, the concert will be moved indoors.
