International Arctic Sea Ice Day at Ranua Wildlife Park

On Wednesday 15 July, Ranua Wildlife Park will celebrate International Arctic Sea Ice Day. We will mark the occasion by officially unveiling a new sea ice-themed installation at the viewing shelter in the polar bear habitat.

We welcome invited guests, members of the media and Wildlife Park visitors to the official opening ceremony of the sea ice installation at the polar bear habitat. During the event, you will learn about the Arctic sea ice ecosystem as well as the research and conservation work carried out to protect polar bears. The ceremony will culminate in a polar bear feeding presentation.

Visitors are encouraged to stay after the opening ceremony for the regular polar bear presentation at 1:00 pm, which is part of the daily programme. An English-language polar bear presentation will follow at 1:15 pm.

Throughout the day, visitors can also take part in a sea ice-themed quiz. Everyone who completes the quiz will be entered into a prize draw featuring polar bear-themed prizes.

At Wild Arctic Restaurant, special polar bear-themed dishes will be available, and the souvenir shop will once again offer discounts on selected polar bear-themed products.

Of course, Jonne the Polar Bear will be joining the celebrations and may even be handing out sweets to children around the Wildlife Park.

The day will continue in the evening with the Wild Summer Nights event from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
