Áila Hideaway is a premium, fully hosted off-grid experience in the untouched wilderness of Finnish Lapland, 20 kilometres north of Sodankylä. Created as a sanctuary from digital noise and the constant demands of modern life, Áila invites guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and rediscover the meaning of true presence.

Guests stay overnight in a private traditional timber cabin, warmed by a wood-burning stove, with their own wood-fired sauna just outside the door. There is no electricity or running water. Instead, life follows the timeless rhythm of the North: gathering and chopping firewood, heating the cabin and sauna, fetching water from the river or an ice hole, and sharing quiet moments around an open fire. Every activity is safely guided by Áila’s hosts, so no previous wilderness experience is needed.

The all-inclusive experience includes lunch, dinner and breakfast prepared by professional chefs using local and seasonal ingredients, as well as all necessary tools, safety equipment, winter clothing, towels and bed linen. Far from artificial light, guests may see the Northern Lights and the Milky Way directly from the cabin yard.

With only six private cabins, Áila offers an intimate and deeply peaceful experience where authentic Finnish traditions, uncompromising quality and the silence of Lapland come together. Áila Hideaway opens on 1 November 2026.
