Welcome to an incredible arctic adventure from Oulu! The Icebreaker Arktis cruises on the frozen Gulf of Bothnia sea in Kemi during the winter season. Icebreaker Arktis Cruise includes 3h icebreaker cruise, ice floating experience, walking on ice and diploma. The shuttle bus also makes a stop in the SnowCastle area of Kemi, so we also recommend booking additional paid services, such as lunch buffet in Lumihiutale restaurant and entrance to the SnowExperience365 exhibition room and Gemstone exhibition. Transportation from Oulu to the port in Kemi and SnowCastle area is a mandatory additional service.

Icebreaker Arktis Cruise includes 3h icebreaker cruise, trasfer from Oulu (~1,5 h one way), ice floating experience, walking on ice (ice conditions permitting) and diploma.

The Icebreaker Arktis cruise does not include:

– Lunch or breakfast buffee

– Exhibition tickets to SnowCastle Area exhibitions

– Photography services

– Welcome drinks

To prepare for the arctic wintertime and activities, we highly recommend that you to dress in layered thermal underwear and warm, windproof outdoor clothing. A warm hat, woollen socks, good mittens and a fleece- or woollen middle layer are all part of proper winter clothing. This way your journey will be pleasant and enjoyable! Inside of the Icebreaker it is warm, but with appropriate clothing you will also be able to go outside on the deck to experience the arctic scenery. It is also a good idea to bring your sunglasses with you, especially in springtime when it can be very bright as the snow reflects the sunlight.

Please note: the cruise is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Minimum height for the ice floating activity is 140 cm.

Minimum height for the ice floating activity is 140 cm.
Inside of the Icebreaker it is warm, but with appropriate clothing you will also be able to go outside on the deck to experience the arctic scenery.
The bus will pick you up outside at the front of your pickup place. Please be ready and wait outside at the scheduled pickup time latest 5 minutes before marked pick up time.
Notice that shuttle bus might have delays depending on traffic and departure from earlier pick up location. Shuttlebus has “Icebreaker Sampo Shuttle bus” or “Icebreaker Arktis Shuttle bus” reading at the front of the windshield.
Ice floating program is optional and is included in the icebreaker experiences. Ice floating requires normal physical health. Staff may check each customer’s physical and mental condition and can decide if the person is allowed to participate. Floating is not recommended for pregnant women.
