This small and absolutely sustainable hideaway Metsä Kolo, was Sustainable Travel Finland certified in December 2021 by Visit Finland. Metsä Kolo core values are sustainability, locality as well as ecological and easy-going lifestyle. The whole concept of the company is intertwined around these values and consists of a comprehensive package of environmentally friendly products and services.
The resort consists of typical Finnish log cabins and the main house at a lake in the middle of a private wilderness. Metsä Kolo offers luxury added to a very rustic and ecological Finnish cabin experience. All three log cabins are equipped with state-of-the-art beds and high-quality textiles from natural materials, as well as nice kitchen utensils, and the fresh water is fetched from an own well.
At the Metsä Kolo dining table locally produced ingredients as well as organic food are served and a responsibly managed forest property offsets the travel emissions of guests. The electricity used in Metsä Kolo is renewable energy.

From cottage to villa and rooms to Tentsile tree tent or sleep under a spruce tree, Metsä Kolo offers a variety of accommodation options to choose from. A log sauna is heated at an additional cost and the canoe excursions will reveal the nature reserves of Simojärvi – Soppana – areas.
