Arriving from France, Abysskiss is a poetic pocket orchestra whose small lineup sounds like a full-sized ensemble. Founded by saxophonist Camille Maussion and guitarist Pierre Téreygeol, the quartet brings together baritone guitar, saxophone, vibraphone, vocals, baritone horn, and flugabone into a distinctive and finely nuanced whole. The group explores the intersections of jazz, chamber music, song, and improvisation, creating a highly original expression while venturing into the worlds of free improvisation and avant-garde music. Abysskiss gracefully defies description — this is a band that must be experienced live.
