Private Trip to Arctic Wilderness Cottage

To Finncredible the purest form of luxury is the wilderness of Lapland and the living style that comes with embracing these arctic surroundings to the fullest. 

Late spring, summer and autumn: we guide you with a motor boat over the lake to a cottage in the middle of nowhere. There, in this silent and peaceful environment, we show you how the old fashioned wooden sauna of Finland works and prepare it for later use. We teach you how to heat the cottage up using a very old wooden stove and how to cook a fine dinner using old and simple cooking methods.

After dinner it’s time to relax in the sauna! If you want the full experience, you may try swimming in the refreshing coolness of the lake. You never know, this may be one of the lucky evenings to spot aurora borealis! You can spot the northern lights from the second half of August until the end of March. We also offer you the possibility to have a rod fishing experience on the lake or try out net fishing with us.

Winter and early spring: We guide you over the frozen lake to a cottage in the middle of nowhere. There, in this silent and peaceful environment, we show you how to drill a hole through the ice to carry natural water into an old log sauna. We teach you how to heat the cottage up using a very old wooden stove and how to cook a fine dinner using old and simple cooking methods. 

After dinner it’s time to relax in the sauna! If you want the full experience, you may try ice swimming in the lake or dipping yourself in the snow. You never know, this may be one of the lucky evenings to spot aurora borealis! We also offer you the possibility to have a fishing experience on the ice; the traditional ice fishing of course, but have you ever heard of net fishing during the winter?
