Local Reindeer Farm Visit & Arctic Fishing with Smoked Salmon

Visit an important cultural landmark at a local reindeer farm on the outskirts of Rovaniemi and gain an insight through real stories from the authentic reindeer herders about their generational work and lifestyle. Learn about the necessity of the reindeers for Lapland’s economy and nature. Feel good that you will be taking part of responsible and sustainable eco-tourism in this program.

Then feel even better when you get in touch deeper with Lapland’s nature to experience fishing as an angler. Your guide will show and teach you proper use of the fishing equipment including techniques to maximize your chances of fishing. While you try your luck fishing your guide will start an open fire and prepare some delicious smoked salmon whether you catch a fish for lunch or not.

Attention

Operated in Rovaniemi each year between June to November (weather permitting). The minimum number of participants for each safari is 2 full paying adults’ price.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and shoes according to the weather. Raincoats and rubber boots are recommended on rainy days.

Pick up service is included if the distance from pick up point to Sunny Safari Office is within 8km.

Meeting time of our safari is always before the starting time of the safari if you need pick-up services. You will receive your meeting time and meeting point upon confirmation or by e-mail. Failure to participate in the safari due to missed meeting time or meeting point will not be refunded.

Please let us know in advance when you book the safari if you have special dietary requirements. (Eg: vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
