Welcome to an incredible arctic adventure from Rovaniemi! The Icebreaker Arktis cruises on the frozen Gulf of Bothnia sea in Kemi during the winter season. Icebreaker Arktis Cruise includes 3h icebreaker cruise, ice floating experience, walking on ice and diploma. The shuttle bus also makes a stop in the SnowCastle area of Kemi, so we also recommend booking additional paid services, such as lunch buffet in Lumihiutale restaurant and entrance to the SnowExperience365 exhibition room and Gemstone exhibition. Transportation from Rovaniemi to the port in Kemi and SnowCastle area is a mandatory additional service.
Icebreaker Arktis Cruise includes 3h icebreaker cruise, trasfer from Rovaniemi (~2,5 h one way), ice floating experience, walking on ice and diploma.
To prepare for the arctic wintertime and activities, we highly recommend that you to dress in layered thermal underwear and warm, windproof outdoor clothing. A warm hat, woollen socks, good mittens and a fleece- or woollen middle layer are all part of proper winter clothing. This way your journey will be pleasant and enjoyable! Inside of the Icebreaker it is warm, but with appropriate clothing you will also be able to go outside on the deck to experience the arctic scenery. It is also a good idea to bring your sunglasses with you, especially in springtime when it can be very bright as the snow reflects the sunlight.
Please note: the cruise is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Minimum height for the ice floating activity is 140 cm.
