EXCURSION TO AURORA BOREALIS CAMP BY SNOWMOBILE, Rovaniemi

Ride through the wilderness and discover the phenomena of the northern sky at our Northern Lights base

Experience the Arctic night by driving through the snow-covered forest and on the frozen river to the Aurora Borealis camp. At the resort, you will find a theatre inside a snow igloo, where a film about the myths and facts of this natural phenomenon is presented. You'll also have time to roam around the resort, take a brisk sleigh ride, or can just lay back by an open fire admiring the northern sky. With a little luck, the sky is clear and the Northern Lights may show up And don’t forget to fry and enjoy the traditional reindeer sausages and marshmallows prepared by the open fire before your return back to the city.

thermal outfit, guidance in English, snowmobiling 2 persons/snowmobile, fuel, traffic insurance (maximum personal liability €980), visit to igloo site and aurora presentation, snack by the fire, hot beverage, Northern lights info, use of camera tripods, tips on how to capture the lights

Requirements

Please take your driving license with you on the snowmobile safari as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari. 

Remember to bring your own camera! Guide will give tips how to catch the Auroras with your camera.

Each snowmobile is shared by two guests taking turns in driving. The driver of the snowmobile has to be at least 18 years of age with a driver’s license valid in Finland. Driving a motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating drugs is prohibited by the laws of Finland.

Child price entitles children to a seat in a sled pulled by a snowmobile driven by the guide. Children over 140 cm in height are allowed to sit on the snowmobile behind an adult, when paying the adult price. Lapland Safaris AC Ltd reserves the right to deny the participation of small children due to safety reasons (e.g. demanding weather or trail conditions).

Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights, are natural phenomena caused by solar wind and they can be predicted but not guaranteed.

This safari is CO2 compensated from the snowmobile fuel emission  

Self liability can be reduced to €150 by paying waiver supplement € 15 per safari driver 

Solo riding possibility. Supplement for solo riding 45 € / person.
