Kylmämaa is a Lappish family-run business, founded in 1988, with two generations of experience in organising wilderness experiences in nature. We know Lapland and want to share our knowledge and tales with you, in order for you to receive the utmost once-in-a-lifetime experiences and heart-warming atmosphere in the Arctic conditions here in the north.
Our holiday village LappeanLohi sits atop a handsome cliff, on the shores of the wild and free-flowing Tornionjoki River, the boundary river of Finland and Sweden and around the halfway point of Lappea’s highly renowned salmon still waters. LappeanLohi is only around 30 kilometres from Kolari (nearest railway station). You can reach LappeanLohi from from Rovaniemi Airport in approximately 1½ hours and Kittilä Airport in app. an hour and 15 minutes.
Throughout the entire year LappeanLohi is a tranquil destination for those after accommodation and family festivities and company meeting organisers. Accommodation is provided in pleasant rooms with plenty of character in the converted old village school. Accommodation in summertime is also provided in traditional camping cabins, or you can even park your mobile home or caravan in our open grounds.
The renovated main building (old school building of Lappea village) has 12 individual rooms that can comfortably accommodate a busload of guests. The sizes of the rooms vary from a single room up to a room sleeping four persons. By combining rooms, it is even possible to accommodate a larger group in the so-called family room. The guests have access to clean showers and toilets in the corridor and household linen is included in the accommodation rate. The apartment located in the old school accommodates a family or larger group of friends (5 + 2 persons). The apartment has a private toilet, shower and kitchen, and two separate bedrooms.
The open grounds of LappeanLohi holds nine cabins of various sizes. All cabins have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hob and crockery. Six of the cabins are camping cabins and they are only in summer use. One of the cabins and both apartments of the semi-detached cabin have a private toilet and shower. The accommodation rate for higher standard cabins includes household linens, but guests staying in camping cabins can hire household linen from reception.
