Planning a media visit?

We receive a significant number of requests from international journalists, photographers, bloggers as well as television and film groups seeking support for their visit to Rovaniemi. Many of our international media visits are organised and planned in co-operation with Visit Finland. In order for us to effectively assist you, we kindly ask you to read the guidelines below.

Upcoming media trips

White Nights media visit to Rovaniemi

– June 19th – 22nd 2017 (Midsummer week)

The Finns say there’s a time for sleeping and it’s called winter! The “White Nights” trip features action and local culture under the Midnight Sun, a phenomena that takes place on and above the Arctic Circle in the summer months.

The trip includes:

  • Accommodation and meals
  • Activity programme (can be adjusted to weather conditions)
  • Local transport
  • English-speaking local guide

Participation & cancellation:

  • Participation is free of charge for selected participants
  • On the trip, using #VisitRovaniemi and @VisitRovaniemi is expected in social media posts. In addition, using # of visited locations and service providers is recommended

Guidelines

 

  • Please contact us at least four weeks before your trip.
  • Please complete in full and submit the media accreditation form below.
  • In return for our assistance, we kindly ask that Visit Rovaniemi is mentioned in the completed work.

Any other support, such as guiding and local transfers, can be discussed based on the planned coverage. Please note we do not provide meals or transportation to and from Rovaniemi.

Filming permits

Public places and events in Rovaniemi can be filmed and photographed for editorial purposes without a permit. Inside commercial places or attractions, in private areas or commercial events, permissions must be requested in advance. Please mention permission requests when completing the media form. If your filming requirements are not linked with tourism, please contact Lapland Film Commission.
