SnowStar 2014 Superweekend Snowmobile Race

Organised in Rovaniemi each year, Snowstar is a snowmobile event for everyone. The biggest event of its kind in Finland, Snowmobile brings together snowmobile enthusiasts and the merely curious for the weekend-long final race of the season, before the thaw. On Saturday, a medley competition is held, based on four events, lasting all day.

Onlookers from Rovaniemi and further afield arrive to join the competitors in savouring the excitement. A host of additional events fill the gaps between the roar of snowmobile engines and frantic racing. Instructor-led dance and aerobics-based moves and other performances keep the audience moving and its toes warm. A major snowmobile exhibition provides enthusiasts with a chance to catch a glimpse of next year's models. This all adds up to an amazing, fast-paced day of outdoor enjoyment. Adults can then continue the fun by sampling Rovaniemi's night life.

SnowStar is organised by Lapin Moottorikelkkailijat Ry, Finland's oldest snowmobile association which has run since 1970.
