There couldn’t be a better time for the Rovaniemi Reindeer Sprint Race and bringing this speed contest to people’s doorsteps in the centre of Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland! Top-ranking reindeer and their drivers are invited to compete, guaranteeing a high-quality competition every year!
Two reindeer each pull a skier uphill from the lower end of Koskikatu, i.e. from Hotel Pohjanhovi all the way to Lordi’s Square. This is an elimination competition, in which the fastest pair in each race continues until only the fastest two reindeer and skiers are left. As darkness falls, the final is held between the two final deer, the winner being crowned as the champion of the Rovaniemi Reindeer Sprint Race!
