Where is Rovaniemi?



Rovaniemi has been for a long time a meeting place, to where everybody has come to enjoy and trade. Old days atmosphere has remained, though city is modern and people are living cosy life.

Rovaniemi, the capital of Northern Finland, is in the lower regions of Lapland at the centre of where the Arctic Circle winds its way through the heart of the Maid of Finland (the name Finns give to describe the shape of the country).

Rovaniemi has developed into one of the main centres for traffic to the arctic region to which thousands of people who thirst for adventure fly from all over the world each year. The connections for all other forms of transport are excellent.

Finnair and Norwegian fly between Helsinki and Rovaniemi daily. VR, the national railway, operates several trains a day. Many coach companies pass through Rovaniemi on their way to the North.

Route from the town centre to the airport: Bus station - Hotel Scandic - City Hotel - Hotel Cumulus - Hotel Santa Claus - Hotel Vaakuna - Hotel Pohjanhovi - Airport. The bus starts from the bus station 1 hour and 10 minutes before the departure of the flight.

From the airport to the town centre:
The bus leaves after the arrival of Finnair (AY) and Norwegian (DY) flights and stops on request at above mentioned hotels
